WORKSHOP- Clay, Flowers & Mindfulness- Friday 16th October 5.30-8.30pm
Flowers & Clay
An evening of flowers, clay & mindfulness.
Celebrating one of our coastal favourites and recently crowned as Australia’s most loved wildflower for 2026, we invite you to gather, create and share a unique evening guided by the gentle beauty of the Flannel Flower.
Sarah (Ashby flowers) will take us on a meditative journey through landscape, the life of the flannel flower, its symbology, indigenous mythology and the reason this flower has been selected as Australia’s symbolic flower for mental health awareness.
She’ll share her floristry skills to help you create a small but memorable flower arrangement that holds these values, a beautiful token to take home with you on the night
All of the flannel flowers used in the workshop are grown with love and care on her property in Ashby.
Amanda will guide you through your clay experience using slab & hand building techniques to make a pair of individual clay wall vases to adorn your walls.
October being the official month our nation promotes awareness for mental health, it’s a reminder to check in with your mates, ask them if they’re ok, help out if they need it and just as the flannel flower blooms from the earth, adapts to its environment and needs endurance to survive, we will earth ourselves in clay, immerse ourselves in flowers, breathe with awareness and share the powerful symbolism of hope & resilience this stunning flower represents.
An evening to come together, hang out, make, breathe, bloom and belong.
A night to slow down and explore how the simple act of working with flowers and clay can help us ground, reconnect, settle and find moments of calm.
